The story of Dana
We are thrilled to introduce our New friend Dana Pajarillaga. We caught a glimpse of a video of Dana dancing and we were so moved by it, we new we had to get to know her. We discovered such a beautiful person we wanted you all to know her too.
S/R: Tell us a bit about yourself (where you live, your profession and passions are)
Dana: My name is Dana Pajarillaga. I am a Filipino-American born and raised in the Washington D.C. area and the Philippines. I have been dancing my whole life and studied in New York City. I am a professional dancer/choreographer currently in Berlin. I am dancing in the Staatsballett, the free scene, and clubs(when they were open). I am passionate about movement and the pleasure that comes from it. There is honesty and freedom when one moves. It is undeniable.
S/R: We were so moved by your dancing and always believed dancing has such healing power. Can you talk about what dance and dancing mean to you?
Dana: Dancing is a connection, connection to oneself and the beings around you. As a dancer, I am always connecting my emotions to my physical sensations — how I can find pleasure in all the things that I am experiencing? Through pleasure in my body, in my sensations, in my emotions, I am healing myself continuously. Things I have been holding onto in my body can be let go through the movement. I enjoy dance when I get to connect to people around me. Whether it’s at a club, or at work, or at an open class/impro, something will come out of the different energies you connect to.
S/R: What made you connect with Semi/romantic? What do you love about the brand and the lingerie itself?
Dana: I LOVE the transparency of Semi/Romantic. It is something that is so important to me in my life and when I purchase products. I was drawn to Semi/Romantic for their beautiful, delicate, simple, and soft lingerie— these timeless pieces. They feel so nice on my skin, even during my movement practice.
S/R: COULD YOU SHARE WITH OUR COMMUNITY SOMETHING YOU DO FOR SELF-CARE? A RITUAL, FOOD, PAMPERING... SOMETHING THAT YOU DO JUST FOR YOU, TO RELAX OR RECHARGE.
Dana: Jumping into the ocean/sea/lake. Laying in the sun. Surrounding myself in nature. Listening and singing along to music. Yoga. Touching myself. Going for a long bike ride where it doesn’t feel like the city anymore.
