The story of Zohar
Immersed in nature in Northern Israel, we found our new friend Zohar. Digital creator lover of movement and sustainability advocate, Zohar lives by her values every day. We sat down for a chat with Zohar and talked about responsible consumption, body image, and great vegan recipes.
S/R: You advocate for sustainable living and responsible consumption. How did you become involved in this and what advice can you give those who want to consume more responsibly?
Zohar: Ever since I was born, I’ve always had a strong connection to nature and animals. Maybe because I grew up so close to nature or perhaps because it is a connection that exists deep within all of us (as I firmly believe). As I grew up I became aware of global warming and the growing destruction of nature — my heart was broken. I decided to stay awake and help bring change! Over the years I have begun to understand how much each person has impact on the environment, excessive consumption is something that almost all of us do and slowly I am learning to reduce it, for my personal benefit and of course for the benefit of the environment. A tip that helps me personally to make the right purchase is to ask myself — do I really need this product? Do I need it now? And do I think I’ll love it next year as well? I also try to check if this product has a more sustainable alternative.
S/R: You practice yoga, dance and are very active. How has this changed your life and your view of body perception and femininity?
Zohar: I started dancing ballet at a very young age, which in the past unfortunately actually caused a negative body image and a desire to be the thinnest in the group. Only in recent years and with the help of yoga classes, meditation, and training in a positive female environment and by myself, I was able to get out of these feelings and see how good, beautiful, and strong I really and naturally am.
S/R: What made you connect with Semi/Romantic? What do you love about the brand and the lingerie itself?
Zohar: I actually came across Semi/Romantic's Instagram page by chance and immediately fell in love with the romantic design line, the delicate colors, and the fabrics that looked so cozy! When I found out that Semi/Romantic is a sustainable brand I was really happy. This is the first time I found a high-quality sustainable brand that is also very stylish.
S/R: COULD YOU SHARE WITH OUR COMMUNITY SOMETHING YOU DO FOR SELF-CARE? A RITUAL, FOOD, PAMPERING... SOMETHING THAT YOU DO JUST FOR YOU, TO RELAX OR RECHARGE.
ZOHAR: I would love to share with you a healthy + super delicious chocolate smoothie recipe that I make for myself quite a bit and enjoy very much.
Recipe
Healthy + Super Delicious Chocolate Smoothie
FOR ONE SERVING:
+ 1 frozen banana
+ 1 frozen date
+ 6 teaspoons oatmeal
+ 1 teaspoon quality cocoa powder
+ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
+ a little milk of your choice (I prefer almond milk)
+ and a small amount of water.
Put all the ingredients in a blender / Ninja and mix well. And that's it! Do not forget to use a reusable or perishable straw!
